Teacher training in Sheffield & the Peak District

Lead school: Silverdale School

An accredited provider of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and an outstanding secondary comprehensive. Recognised by the Sunday Times as the Top State School in the North in 2018.

Within this hub we have a strong network of existing primary, special and secondary schools in South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire, due to the work of Silverdale’s Teaching School – the Sheffield Teaching School Alliance (STSA). STSA’s success in training teachers in a range of subjects led to the Department for Education asking them to lead the National Modern Languages SCITT.
