Teacher training in Oundle
Oundle School is situated in the quintessentially English market town of Oundle, about 90 miles north of London in Northamptonshire. The school’s buildings, dating from the 17th to the 21st centuries, are dispersed throughout the town, which is, to a large extent, its campus.
There are currently 1110 pupils on roll at Oundle School, with 860 boarders and 250 day pupils.
Meet the Oundle Hub Leader - Karen Paone
Karen is an Italian national with 11 years of experience of teaching MFL in the East of England. After three years of Italian teaching in the Adult sector, where the age gap of her learners was from a 19 year old girl to a 92 year old gentleman, she decided to start a career as secondary school teacher. At Oundle School since then, she has been teaching both Italian and Spanish. Towards the end of her NQT year she became a mentor and she has gradually become more involved in the NML SCITT.
Alongside teaching and her new role of NML SCITT Hub Lead, at Oundle School, Karen is a tutor, a swimming coach and in charge of the Crafts for Charity Community Action school programme.
Outside the school environment, she loves gym and boxing training, Latin dance, baking and travelling. Her favourite destination is Spain, where she tends to spend most of her summer holidays to attend teacher training courses and full immerse in the Spanish culture.
